Mrs. Hayes was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, and attended SCA 1st-8th grade. She accepted Jesus as her Savior when she was five years old, and is so excited to share her love of Jesus and God's story through human history with her students! She received her undergraduate degree in history and managed to travel the world while in college. She knew she wanted to teach high school so she then earned a graduate degree in secondary education from Grand Canyon University. She got married in 2008 and then began teaching that same year. She taught high school social studies for 10 years, but quit teaching to stay home with her two children, Finn and Avery, in 2018. While home with her kids, Mrs. Hayes earned a graduate degree in American History and Government. When not teaching, Mrs. Hayes enjoys landscape photography, travel, reading, watching movies and spending time with her family and her dogs. She is beyond excited to have the privilege of getting to teach history at SCA!
