PE With Coach Z

Hello Everyone.  Welcome to the Elementary PE Activity Page!

The good news is that PE won’t go by the wayside just because the campus is closed.  On this page, we will be listing suggested PE activities and a “Focus on the Family” activity. Hopefully, it will give you all an opportunity to have some fun playing with your family.

What did I expect from students for PE?

Optional PE Activities for 5/11-5/15

  • I expected each student to participate in at least 60 minutes of physical activity each week. This can be broken up however you want it (15, 30, 45, or 60-minute segments) and however it fits into your schedule. I will be listing suggested activities each week but you are not required to use them. They are merely suggestions. You may choose your own activities. The “Focus on the Family” activity counted toward this requirement as well.

Optional Activity #1 – Use sidewalk chalk to draw a fitness ladder on your driveway or sidewalk. Perform several of the activities shown in the videos. Spend 15 minutes or more on this activity.

  • In order to have a basis for grading, I will need documentation of the 60 minutes of activity. This is where the PE Teams app comes in. Simply head to your class’s PE team app and record your activity via one of the following methods.
  • Write a brief description of your activities and the amount of time spent or upload photos of your activities or upload a short video of part of your activities. Choose one of these options and post it in the “posts” section of your class’s PE TEAMS.

Optional Activity #2 – Practice doing burpees or modified burpees as shown in the videos. Do 10 burpees to start, then do it again after a 1-minute break. after a 2-minute break, see how many you can do in 1 minute. This activity should take 7-10 minutes.  When you are done with your burpees, jog 10 laps around your house. This should take 5-7 minutes.

DO – enjoy your activity time and this extended time with your family. Get creative and invite your family to join along in your activities and workouts.
DON’T – overthink your activities. Just get in some activity and have fun doing it.
